Hallvard Villa Cano is a Manila-based student photographer specializing in Fashion Photography
He is currently studying at De La Salle College of Saint Benilde under the School of New Media and Arts, pursuing a degree in Photography. He was raised in the northernmost province of the Philippines, Batanes Surrounded by a rich lineage of indigenous culture and heritage, he seeks to explore the importance of identity and narrative in the subjects he photographs. 
This curiosity has driven exploration of his visual rhetoric as he journeys through photography, supported by professional classes provided by his college Fashion, Professional Lighting, Commercial and Advertising, Professional Editing, Printing Class, Business and Marketing, and more. 
His photographic style creates an atmosphere and movement that evokes reflection through concepts of identity and fashion. His imagery also explores glamour and softness, with a reference to nuanced nostalgic directions.
Hallvard served as a Photography staffer for the Official Student Publication of his college for a year, getting his works published in different magazines such as Dekunsrukt: The Official Photography Folio of DLS-CSB, and The Benildean: The official student journal magazine of DLS-CSB. He also worked as an accredited photographer during BYS Fashion Week 2023, a 4-day event celebrating Filipino fashion designers such as Antonina, HA.MU, Rafa Worldwide, Randolf Clothing, Chris Nick, Neric Beltran, Cheetah Rivera, Orias Studios, and Vania Romoff. The event showcased runway looks to uphold BYS’ core values of innovation and individuality.
